It was a night for working on rotations, but in only 12 minutes, No. 2 still made his presence felt — particularly on the opposing team’s point guard.

Jason was matched up against the Chicago Bulls’ rookie, Derrick Rose, and showed him just what a veteran at the one looks like, leading Dallas to a 110-102 win Thursday night.

Afterward, J-Kidd (three points, six assists) had some advice for his Chicago’s young star:

“The point guard position is hard, no matter what age you are. You have to produce. Everybody’s counting on you to run the offense and get the ball to the right guy. And everybody wants the ball. So you will make friends and you will make enemies. That’s just part of the territory.”

“He’s got to learn that, because as much as everybody’s your buddy, everybody wants the ball. So he’s got to figure out that he has to get thick skin, because it’s hard to keep everybody happy.”

OLD VS. NEW
Jason, who coincidently made his first start against the Bulls just 14 years ago, proved that experience can trump age. The Dallas Morning News wrote:

“Jason Kidd was clearly the dominator against touted rookie Derrick Rose in the first quarter.”
