After receiving his Olympic ring in a pregame ceremony, Jason led the Mavericks to their highest offensive output of the season in a 128-106 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Rebounding and hot shooting were the keys to Dallas’ 43rd victory of the season. The Mavs’ ninth straight home win from outrebounding the Warriors 44-26 and from shooting 58.5% from the field.

With the W, Dallas moved 15 games over .500 for the second time this season and are only one game back from Portland for the seventh seed in the playoffs.

J-Kidd gave the Mavs another all-around effort with three points, seven assists, and six boards.

His guiding touch was what led the Mavs to their highest points total of the season as when he found something that worked, he stuck with it. So when the Warriors had made a push in the 3rd quarter to trim the Mavs lead to 3, Jason proceeded to find Barea for 8 straight points.

Barea talked with Hoopsworld about that set of possessions in the 3rd quarter:

“I drove to the basket and that layup got me going. Then Dirk found me on the break and then J. Kidd did a great job of running the same play for me and we got the pick-n-roll working and he kept running it for me and I kept attacking and it worked out.”

HELPING OUT
Thursday afternoon following the Mavs practice, Jason Kidd plans to raise awareness for leukemia and a six-year old girl named Jasmina who is suffering from it.

Jason plans to demonstrate how simple the process is to help people like Jasmina out who need a bone marrow transplant. After practice, J-Kidd will register to become a bone marrow donor. He talked with Dallas Basketball.com about his decision to get involved:

“Hey, things like this remind us just how precious our lives really are. One minute we are going along fine and then the next minute you are fighting for your life. So I am going to do everything I can to help her find a match. By raising awareness for Jasmina, it will also help other people find matches by raising awareness about the registry.”
