Just days after rising to second on the NBA’s all-time assist list, Jason Kidd reminded the world that he can do more than just dish.

But when it came down to the buzzer, a J-Kidd dime did the trick.

Jason went off with a season-high 22 points and handed out the final assist, dishing to Jason Terry, who drilled a buzzer beater from the baseline to send the Dallas Mavericks to a 104-102 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers last night in Dallas.

After the game, Terry told DallasBasketball.com about J-Kidd’s passing abilities, short and sweet:

"Jason Kidd is one of the best passers to ever play this game."

While dealing is No. 2’s forte, he was plenty active on the scoring end Monday night as well.

15 of J-Kidd’s 22 points came from beyond the arc, where he drained 5-8 triples. He totaled 8-16 from the field and 1-2 from the charity stripe to mark his first 20-point game since March 13 against Golden State.

That night, Jason went for a triple double with 10 rebounds and 11 assists, but his offensive numbers were eerily similar: 8-16 from the field, 5-8 from three, 21 points.

On Monday, Jason also threw in 11 assists, collected six rebounds and swiped four steals. He was just four rebounds short of a triple double, but instead recorded his fourth double double of the year.

TIMELY DIME
Even though Terry hit the game-winning shot as the clock was approaching zero, it wouldn’t have gone in without a clutch pass from J-Kidd.

Jason didn’t even think about taking the shot, despite his strong offensive night. No. 2 told the Dallas Morning News about his timely assist:

"It’s going to be Dirk or Jet on that play. Jet was wide-open and we have a lot of confidence in him doing the right thing and he did. He was plan A, because I saw he was wide open. Dirk was plan B, C and D after that."

NEXT UP
J-Kidd looks to dish out some more timely passes tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. CST when he returns to his old stomping grounds to take on his former team, the New Jersey Nets. The game can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest.
