Jason came within three rebounds of a triple-double on Wednesday night, finishing with 11 points, 11 assists and seven boards, but it wasn’t enough against the Los Angeles Lakers.

J-Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks lost at American Airlines Center, 100-95, falling to 12-7 at home this season. They have a slim half game lead on San Antonio for first place in the Southwest.

J-KIDD CARES
Early Thursday, it was announced that Jason has been recognized with the NBA Cares Community Assist Award for December.

Eddie Sefko from the Dallas Morning News had the report:

The NBA is honoring Kidd for his work helping children and families in need throughout the Dallas area and beyond. Most recently, in an effort to bring holiday cheer to kids, he treated 50 youngsters from the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center to an unforgettable shopping spree. Kidd also made a personal donation to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children to be spent on gifts for the boys and girls who had to spend the holidays undergoing difficult medical treatments. Finally, during the annual Christmas in the Park event, Kidd helped brighten the holidays for more than 15,000 Dallas youngsters by handing out toys. The yearly event provides toys, food, clothing, and more to local families in need thanks to the generosity of local residents, businesses, and organizations.

Jason has always been charitable, since his first days in the NBA and has said that anything that he can do to help give back, he would:

"Giving back to the community is very important to me because the community has given me so much throughout my career," Kidd said. "Fan support has really kept me going and it means a lot to me. I’ve been so lucky to have a career doing what I love. I love helping others-good service to others is what brings you true happiness."
