The Dallas Mavericks lost their third straight game last night, but Jason Kidd knows that these sorts of ebbs and flows are the part of every season, even for championship contenders.

As he told Pegasus News:

“Hey, it happens. There’s 82 games, and you’re going to win five or six in a row and you might lose three. But, our goal is to try to minimize those three-game losing streaks to two-game losing streaks. So, this is our first one…We’ve got to find a way to get out of this hole. But we’re a veteran ball club, so we’re not panicking.”

No. 2 did all he could to get Dallas a much needed W. He dished out eight assists in the third quarter alone, putting the Mavs down by just one going into the fourth.

But Dallas couldn’t capitalize on J-Kidd’s outstanding assist show, and fell, 104-92 to the Utah Jazz.

No. 2 told Pegasus News what went wrong in the fourth quarter.

“We had our chances, but here at home they’re tough to beat. They got a couple of turnovers and from that point we were just playing catch up.”

ALL-STAR MATCHUP
J-Kidd, a nine-time All-Star, went up against Utah point guard Deron Williams, who was just selected to play in his second All-Star Game.

No. 2 had nothing but praise forWilliams.

“I think (Williams) controls the game,” Kidd said of his point guard counterpart. “He understands how to execute (Jazz coach Jerry Sloan’s) offense. He knows how to get different guys the ball. He knows when he needs to step up and take a shot. So, I think he’s grown this year and you can see that by him becoming an All-Star.”

NEXT UP
The Mavericks look to end their losing streak against the Golden State Warriors Wednesday night at 7:30 on Fox Sports Network.
