As a year that has seen Jason Kidd’s Dallas Mavericks swing back and forth like a pendulum approaches the end of one calendar, the Mavericks put together a strong performance on Wednesday to get back to sea level.

Luka Doncic missed his seventh triple-double of the season by a single rebound, leading scorers with 25 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 21 points as Dallas downed fellow Western Conference competitor Minnesota 104-99. The win came just two days after a 116-106 loss to the Timberwolves sent them below .500 and saw Coach Kidd get ejected. Jason was happy to make it to the end of this one and watch his team get back on track.

“You could see the improvement for our team coming down the stretch,” he said. “Luka made some big shots, not just 3s but being able to play in the midrange. And then being the quarterback, being able to trust his guys to be able to deliver by making shots.”
