For several years now, Jason Kidd has been building something big in girls basketball.

Through his Jason Kidd Select and Team Kidd programs based in California, J-Kidd has given girls in the region an opportunity to grow within the game while learning the importance of dedication to their craft and teamwork, and showcasing themselves for a chance to ball at the next level.

Since the programs were established in 2021, more than 30 female basketball players have received college scholarships out of JKS/Team Kidd programs with many more to come.

Now Jason Kidd Select can also call themselves champions after the 17U team completed a dominant season in the Select 40 ranks by winning the 2023 S40 17U Championship at the Select 40 Finale, July 24th in Manheim, Pennsylvania.

The championship is a product of the program built not only by Jason, but by coaches Armando Pazos, Alle Moreno, Kenyatta Madison, Rod Lee, Malik McCord and Chris Watters.

JrAllStar.com wrote up JKS before the season and pointed out the things that made the program shine despite just a short time on the circuit.

“Jason Kidd Select was established in 2021 and has quickly made a name for itself as a standout in the world of AAU basketball. One of the defining characteristics of the Jason Kidd Select is its culture of teamwork and selflessness. In their program, every player is encouraged to play not just for themself, but for their teammates as well. With the guidance and support of Jason Kidd, a former NBA player and current NBA coach, this program places a strong emphasis on player development both on and off the court. As a result, the Jason Kidd Select is quickly becoming known for its unparalleled commitment to excellence and its ability to produce exceptional athletes who are also outstanding individuals.”

With one of the best programs in women’s youth basketball already established, the future looks extremely bright for Jason Kidd Select and all the young ladies who come through the program.
